Welcome to the FAQ section of Stars and Stripes Regional Bass Circuit

Q: Do I have to pay membership fees to fish in Stars and Stripes fishing tournaments?

 

1.) Yes membership is required to fish in members only tournaments.

2.) No membership is required to fish open tournaments and the St. Clair Fishing Party.

Q: How much are the membership fees.

Membership fees are $40 per person or $80 per team.

Veterans, Policemen, and Firemen (Must show Proof) receive half off membership. (Note: Half off only applies to that member, if both members of that team qualify then both will receive half off.

Youth under 18 years of age by March 1st. of the qualifying year are FREE.

Q: What is the membership fee used for?

 

Majority of the membership fee covers the expenses of the web site, insurance and marketing the events with a remaining portion pooled into the Tournament of Champions prize fund.

Q: How do I qualify for the Tournament of Champions?

 

To qualify for this event two entrants must be designated as a team on the entry forms for the qualifying events that they participated in and be a current member of Stars and Stripes. They also must participate in a minimum of four events together allowing the use of a sub or one member of the team can choose to fish alone. Teams must compete in a minimum of five qualified events.

Q: Is there a separate entry fee for the Tournament of Champions?

 

Yes, there is a $240 entry fee to the tournament of champions.

Q: How is the location of the Tournament of Champions determined?

The Stars and Stripes staff chooses the site. Special efforts are made to have a neutral site.

Q: How are points calculated in Divisional Tournaments?

Its a combination of both "Place" points and "Weight" points.

Place Points - 100 points for first 95 for second and so on, no place points are awarded for teams that do not weight fish. In the event that more than 20 teams fish a Divisional Tournament, then an additional 5 "Place" points will be awarded for every team over 20.

Example - 25 teams, 125 points for first 120 points for second and so on.

Weight Points - 10 points per pound of fish weighted in. Example - team has a total weight of 12.26 pounds, that team will earn 122.60 "Weight" points

Total Points - The combination of both "Place" points and "Weight" points. The total points from each Divisional Tournament will be added up and the team with the most Total points will win that Division and move on to compete for Angler of the Year at the Tournament of Champions.

Q: Am I able to pay for memberships, tournaments, and other events on-line?

Yes, but currently this feature is not active yet. We are working on getting this set up ASAP.

Q: How is Angler of the Year decided?

The top team in total points in any division that averages less than 14 entries will qualify.

The top two teams in total points in any division that averages 15 to 24 entries will qualify.

The top three teams in total points in any division that averages 25 to 34 entries will qualify.

The top four teams in total points in any division that averages over 35 entries will qualify.

The winner will be determined by the highest finishing team in the Tournament of Champions from the list of qualified teams.

The Anglers of the Year will be awarded $500 and 2 plaques.
